Before I talked to Margit I thought she would yell at me or be angry that I'm not a good daughter. When I met her she was really nice and funny. I think me and my mother are happier.
   --Ashley, 10

Margit is really nice and fun. She’s not a typical adult. She is sort of like a friend and she helps me do better in school. I like her. Thanks Margit.
   --Marley, 11

Margit is really über funny, curious, and is easy to get along with! The thing I liked the best about working with Margit is that she showed me a lot of tactics to avoid bullies and to get along with people better.
  --"Joe Bob," 12  (At-home coaching, January 2009)

You inspire me to do better and try hard. You’ve shown me how to be kind and that I’m somebody special. I can’t express how big of an influence you’ve been on me. Thank you very much, you’ve taught me lessons about people and shown me reality. You've made my life much easier and better.
   --Tim, 14

Thank you very much for listening to me when I needed someone to talk to. I am going to miss you.
  --Luis, 14

Margit listens really well. She’s nice and I feel better after I talk to her. I was mad at my mom when she said we were doing coaching because it seemed like my mother just wanted to bust me. Now I get that we’re a family and it’s better if we get along.  I still get mad at my mom sometimes but I don’t yell at her anymore and most of the time I know that she’s doing her best. Margit says that some things are just going to happen whether I like it or not. Then she helps me have a better attitude about it.
   --Zach, 15 (son of Francine)

I can’t even tell you how awesome you are! You always acknowledged me and understood me, and your personality always made me laugh. I enjoyed working with you and I’ll miss you.
   --Kimberley, 15

I like working with Margit because she is fun and lively and understands the kids point of view and can translate the strange and foreign adult language. She acts young but responsible at the same time, and I was thoroughly convinced she was 35. [I'm way older than that! - Margit]
     --Devin, 16 (April 2009)

Margit tells it like it is. She isn’t mean but she doesn’t just sit around. She gets right to the point, which is to make your family happier.  I know she understands how I’m feeling and she helps when I feel like I can’t say something directly to my mom. She’s in the middle and helps us communicate better.
   --Kira, 16

You’re an amazing person and so smart. Your wisdom has definitely helped me along and made me think more. You are so fun and I’m glad I got to know you.
   --Hannah, 16

It’s been phenomenal meeting you. You’re amazing. You’re one of the most open-minded people I’ve ever met. You’re someone I’ll never forget.
   --Jeremy, 17

I cannot describe the appreciation you deserve. You are fun and wonderful and inspirational and you have an important message to send out. You're a good listener and I enjoyed talking to you and I appreciated your help with the personal stuff. You were definitely influential in my life and you’ll always have a special place in my heart.
   --Julie, 17

My freshman year, on the second day of school, I lost my father to cancer. Margit helped me find enough strength to make it through the year. You always believed in me and you have given me lots of advice and things I can take with me for the rest of my life. You always knew what I was going through and this really helped. I have been inspired by you and your friendship.
   --Aaron, 17

You have been a source of inspiration and guidance for me. I appreciate your honesty, straightforwardness, and spirit. I think you are a great person. Thank you.
   --Ebony, 18

I was finishing my first year of university when I was diagnosed with ADD and started meeting with Margit shortly afterwards. My first year had been a maelstrom of health issues that led me to fall behind and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't catch up again. At first I tried to imitate my friends' study habits but was frustrated because it seemed to take me hours to comprehend something my friends could memorize in a few minutes. As a result, I felt like a failure in school and extremely stressed at the thought of not being able to come back for second year. Meeting with Margit helped me realize that I needed to rethink the way I was studying - that there was nothing wrong with using more unconventional tactics - and she really guided me through ways I could make studying work for me. She also taught me to apply these skills to reevaluate the means through which I was trying to achieve my goals. Supportive, but no-nonsense, Margit made me see that I couldn't live passively with the label 'ADD' and taught me not only how to navigate through schooling, but also these crazy new possibilities that I was imagining.
--Celeste, 19 year old student in British Columbia. (See her mother's testimonial - "Ann A" - in the parent's section)

From my first client
Margit Crane started out as my Junior High Spanish teacher in 1993. She excelled in teaching and encouraged students to find a passion. I came from a loving but very strict home and Margit was a joy to be around.

Margit was like a second mother to me, and even so, she got along very well with my parents and my brother and sister. She gave me good advice and love when things were challenging, and helped me to see the good in things when life got difficult with parents who had great expectations of me. She taught me to respect my parents in a way that was also self-respectful.

I am very grateful to still have her in my life today.
