coaching testimonials from teens (by age)

Margit is really nice and fun. She’s not a typical adult. She is sort of like a friend and she helps me do better in school. I like her. Thanks Margit.
   --Marley, 11

At first I wasn’t sure about Margit because I couldn’t see her. She let me ask her a lot of questions and I felt ok then.  I had problems at school and my mom was mad at me a lot. I wanted to do good but I didn’t exactly know what I was doing wrong. She taught me that there’s an easy way to do things. My grades are good now. I don’t have any D’s or F’s and I raised my grades. Margit is very easy to talk to and she’s funny too. Margit should get a webcam.
--Nolan, 12 (Phone coaching from Massachusetts)

You inspire me to do better and try hard. You’ve shown me how to be kind and that I’m somebody special. I can’t express how big of an influence you’ve been on me. Thank you very much, you’ve taught me lessons about people and shown me reality. You've made my life much easier and better.
   --Tim, 14

Thank you very much for listening to me when I needed someone to talk to. I am going to miss you.
  --Luis, 14

I found Margit online when I was looking for advice about getting my homework done. I saw that she knows a lot about ADD. I want to do well but I can’t so I asked Margit for help. She gave advice like Make sure the place I do my homework is the best it can be and also Use a timer so I can work in short amounts of time and then I can have a break. She gave me some other things too. She is nice – she doesn’t even know me and she helped me.
-- Lia, 15 (Email Coaching from Illinois)

Margit listens really well. She’s nice and I feel better after I talk to her. I was mad at my mom when she said we were doing coaching because it seemed like my mother just wanted to bust me. Now I get that we’re a family and it’s better if we get along.  I still get mad at my mom sometimes but I don’t yell at her anymore and most of the time I know that she’s doing her best. Margit says that some things are just going to happen whether I like it or not. Then she helps me have a better attitude about it.
   --Zach, 15 (son of Francine)

I can’t even tell you how awesome you are! You always acknowledged me and understood me, and your personality always made me laugh. I enjoyed working with you and I’ll miss you.
   --Kimberley, 15

Margit tells it like it is. She isn’t mean but she doesn’t just sit around. She gets right to the point, which is to make your family happier.  I know she understands how I’m feeling and she helps when I feel like I can’t say something directly to my mom. She’s in the middle and helps us communicate better.
   --Kira, 16

We went to therapy and it was boring. We sat for three months and talked about feelings. I hated seeing my mom and sister cry. Margit just gets down to it and she’s mostly just helping us to get along better. She doesn’t let us whine and she makes sure we’re saying stuff that is helpful. She also understands us for the most part and helps our mom understand us too.
   --Ari, 16

You’re an amazing person and so smart. Your wisdom has definitely helped me along and made me think more. You are so fun and I’m glad I got to know you.
   --Hannah, 16

It’s been phenomenal meeting you. You’re amazing. You’re one of the most open-minded people I’ve ever met. You’re someone I’ll never forget.
   --Jeremy, 17

I cannot describe the appreciation you deserve. You are fun and wonderful and inspirational and you have an important message to send out. You're a good listener and I enjoyed talking to you and I appreciated your help with the personal stuff. You were definitely influential in my life and you’ll always have a special place in my heart.
   --Julie, 17

My freshman year, on the second day of school, I lost my father to cancer. Margit helped me find enough strength to make it through the year. You always believed in me and you have given me lots of advice and things I can take with me for the rest of my life. You always knew what I was going through and this really helped. I have been inspired by you and your friendship.
   --Aaron, 17

You have been a source of inspiration and guidance for me. I appreciate your honesty, straightforwardness, and spirit. I think you are a great person. Thank you.

From my first client
Margit Crane started out as my Junior High Spanish teacher in 1993. She excelled in teaching and encouraged students to find a passion. I came from a loving but very strict home and Margit was a joy to be around.

Margit was like a second mother to me, and even so, she got along very well with my parents and my brother and sister. She gave me good advice and love when things were challenging, and helped me to see the good in things when life got difficult with parents who had great expectations of me. She taught me to respect my parents in a way that was also self-respectful.

I am very grateful to still have her in my life today.
