margit's happies and crappies!

Here’s a bunch of random things that make me happy or make me nauseous! (Just having some fun here…)

1. Favorite Movie To Kill a Mockingbird (Gregory Peck = yum + I named my first car “Scout” and I always wanted to have a son and name him Jeremy and then his nickname would be Jem. How about that for GROUPIE?!) When I was a teen I loved the movie Lenny with Dustin Hoffman. The guy was a mess but I loved that he wasn’t a hypocrite. I also LOVE Mary Poppins!
2. Least Favorite Movie I hate Crimson Tide. I cried into my husband’s shoulder the whole time (Why didn’t I leave?) All I could think was “There are two stupid men deciding whether to start a nuclear war???”  Also, The Last Temptation of Christ – fabulous book, horrible movie
3. Favorite TV Show When I was a teen I loved MASH and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Now I like Top Chef, Project Runway, ANTM, Dancing with the Stars (I'm a Mark Ballas fan) House, and UGLY BETTY ROCKS! (Guilty Pleasure: The Bachelor and The Bachelorette)
4. Least Favorite TV Show Yo Momma!, Punk'd, Flavor of Love (barf) I can't even watch the commercials for these shows!
5. Favorite Actor Old School: Gregory Peck, Dick Van Dyke.  Current actors: Robert Downey Jr., Alan Rickman (he plays Severus Snape).

6. Favorite Actress

Old School: Julie Andrews. Current: Ellen Page

7. Favorite Website

POP CANDY! Can’t get enough of the Candy!
8. Favorite Book I ADORE the Harry Potter series! Also the Twilight series, poetry by Hafiz, Lamb, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Psalms, Running With Scissors, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Prince of Tides, The Color Purple, Nine Princes in Amber, and A Return to Love (non-fiction)
9. Favorite Book When I Was a Teen I loved James Michener’s books and reread them a lot. And To Kill a Mockingbird, Johnny Got His Gun, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

10. Favorite Music

New Wave (80’s), The Beatles, or World Music

11. Least Favorite Music

Rap. It hurts my head.

12. Best Concert Ever

Elton John at the L.A. Forum, 1973

13. Favorite Comic or Cartoon

Calvin and Hobbes!
14. 3 People I Admire My husband (he’s really good at being my husband and, while it must be incredibly rewarding, I can’t imagine that it’s easy! I have a lot of spirit!), my friend Kyrie (she had a tough life and now she’s married to a great guy and they have two fabulous kids), my friend Brandi (she also has a great life and it didn’t come easy. Her faith in God is amazing. I’ve known her since she was 13. She’s an angel.)
15. 3 People I'd Like to Meet Albus Dumbledore (I know he’s not real but…); Joseph Campbell – a really cool sort of philosopher type guy; Jesus Christ – come on, that would be pretty cool!

16. Old Dumbledore or New

OLD, OLD, OLD. I heart him.

17. Favorite Food

Sushi!

18. Least Favorite Food

Organ meats are gross (hearts, tongues, intestines. . .)

19. Thing I Like Best About Me

I'm quirky and creative and that makes me laugh.

20. Thing I Like the Least About Me

22. 3 Cool Things That Happened to Me When I Was A Teen

I got to travel a lot; I sang in musicals; I learned 5 foreign languages!

23. What I Loved About My Mom

She introduced me to plays and musicals and museums and operas and art galleries.

24. What I Wanted to Change About My Mom

I wish she had taken better care of herself.

25. What I Loved About My Dad

He was super funny!

26. What I Wanted to Change About My Dad

He could have used some anger management classes.

27. What I Like About Being A Step Mom

Just hanging out is so fun!

28. What I Don't Like About Being A Step Mom

29. My Favorite Teacher Back Then

I had a few.  I guess I would say Rabbi Yosi Gordon.  He believed in me so much.  He inspired me to become a teacher.
30. My Least Favorite Teacher Back Then My 9th grade English teacher and my 11th grade American lit teacher – too serious and critical!
